Manhattan saturday

I've lived in the city for almost 3 years now. I still don't feel like I'm at quite home. Today though came pretty close to what I always imagine a typical weekend day in the city would be like. My friend stayed over from a late night. When we woke up, we got our cup of joe and proceeded to get our nails done. Nothing like caffeine and feeling pretty to start the day off. Another friend met up with us to go to brunch at a favorite east village rest. We took our time, enjoyed the food, the people, the environment, we talked. After, we shopped in soho and spent unnecessarily. Took rest at a cafe, refreshed ourselves and critiqued the selection of tasty treats we shared. For dinner, I met up with my sister and her husband at an awesome sushi restaurant we heard about. Walk around the west village had some froyo for dessert and found a free outdoor jazz event to enjoy. Found my way to the 6 train and on my way home in this cool brisk evening, I wondered where the summer have gone.
I had a great day and it felt like it's been so long since I've really enjoyed the city. Ok I lied, that isn't really true. I've had an awesome summer come to think of it, some truly amazing moments. I am appreciating a lot...there is a lot to be grateful for. For each time that I start to feel down, there is one that would find its way to bring me up. Today would be an up sort of day and I am much obliged to write about it.
